Q. How Do I apply to work at Saz's Festivals?

Q. How old do I need to be to work at Saz's Festivals?
A. You need to be 14 to work at Saz's Festivals. You need to be 16 to fry food, and you need to be 18 to work as a bartender or waitress.
Q. Do I need a work permit to work at Saz's Festivals? What if I already have one?
A. If you are under the age of 18, you will need to obtain a work permit from your school prior to your first day or work at Saz's Festivals. Wisconsin state law requires you obtain a work permit for each job you have.
Q. How much does Saz's Festivals pay?
A. All positions start at minimum wage. All employees are reviewed twice a season and are eligible for raises at that point.
Q. What positions are available?
A. When working at Saz's Festivals, you may be asked to perform in a variety of positions, and may change on a daily basis. Some positions include cashier, runner, food prep, food cook, cleaning, waitressing, bartending and other general kitchen positions.
Q. If I want to be a server or a bartender, do I need to have a license?
A. We pride ourselves on responsible alcohol service. We do not require that our bartenders obtain a license. We do require anyone handling or serving alcohol to have taken and passed a responsible serving class such as ServSafe, TIPS or Learn2Serve. You can take this classes online at http://www.learn2serve.com or other state certified websites.
Q. How do I know my schedule? What festivals will I be working if hired?
A. You will always be given your schedule before each event. Be sure to write it down and be on time for each shift. Most of our employees are hired specifically for Summerfest and State Fair, however, select employees will be invited to work our other festivals throughout the Summer.
Q. What if there are days/nights that I can't work?
A. Summerfest and State Fair are only 11 days long, and we encourage you to be available all 11 days. If you have conflicts, we ask that you let us know when we first offer you employment, as your availability may affect our offer.
Q. What if it is raining?
A. If it is raining, please contact us prior to reporting for work, as it may save you from getting sent home right away.
Q. Where do I park at Summerfest?
A. There are lots adjacent to the Summerfest grounds, as well as some limited street parking. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. The Milwaukee County Transit System has shuttles running from the local Park and Ride lots, as well as throughout downtown.
